Frequently asked questions
What are the opening times for Anima?
We aim to have Anima open from 8am - 2pm every weekday. Eventually Anima will close at 6.30pm. Occasionally we may have to close Anima early, see below for details.
Why is Anima closed?
On some days, demand for a GP appointment far outweighs the safe capacity we can provide. On those days, we may have to turn off Anima early because we are full. If you have an emergency in these situations, please call the reception team who will be glad to help you.
Please remember that you may call 111 when we are closed.
How soon will I hear back?
We aim to respond to all urgent queries the on same day. Routine queries may take us a few days to get back to you. You can always check the status of your request via your Anima dashboard.
What happens if I can't access the internet or don't feel confident using it?
Our reception team are always here happy to help you. They will be able to submit the request on your behalf. They will call you back to inform you of the outcome of your request and if needed will offer you an appointment.
Why have we changed to Anima?
GP surgeries are experiencing significant strain with declining GP numbers and increasing demand. Our aim is to make sure patients are seen by the appropriate clinician at the right time improving patient care. The patient experience will be improved, and it will reduce pressure on our clinical team, allowing them to spend their time where it is needed.
The idea behind the move to total triage is to avoid the 8am rush! This has been a growing problem for many years. We are supported with this move from NHS England who are encouraging all GP Practices to engage with a more digital approach.
Can I use Anima to request a repeat prescription?
No. We would recommend that you continue to request your prescriptions the way you request them now. We are hopeful that in the future prescriptions can be requested through Anima.
Can I book a Nurse appointment through Anima?
Yes. You are able to book a nurse appointment through Anima the same way you would request a GP appointment.
Is Anima an App?
Currently the Anima link can only be accessed through our website. The team at Anima are working hard to get Anima integrated with the NHS App. We will update you when this has happened.
